This is a livery edition of the 1985 RD500LC replicating the colours of Yamaha grand prix rider Christian Sarron's racing bikes; the listed mechanical specification matches the standard bike. The underlying machine was the 499 cc liquid-cooled V4 two-stroke with steel frame and anti-dive forks, styled after the factory racers of the period.
